LA GUAIRA, VENEZUELA (July 5, 2026) – In a show of international cooperation and humanitarian assistance, U.S. Marines and Soldiers, as well as Venezuelan partners, delivered critical aid to earthquake-stricken communities in La Guaira, Venezuela on July 3, 2026.

Operation Deliver Aid, a collaborative effort between the U.S. military and international organizations, aimed to provide essential supplies and support to those affected by the devastating earthquakes that struck on June 24. The disasters claimed countless lives, destroyed infrastructure, and left thousands without access to basic necessities.

Led by U.S. Marines with Littoral Combat Force-24, the delivery operation involved a comprehensive logistics effort, transporting vital supplies, including food, water, medical equipment, and shelter materials, to remote areas. U.S. Soldiers, working alongside their Venezuelan counterparts, played a key role in coordinating the relief efforts and navigating challenging terrain.

“Today’s aid delivery is a testament to the strength of our partnerships and our shared commitment to helping those in need,” said General James B. Johnson, Commander of the U.S. Southern Command. “We recognize the resilience and bravery of the Venezuelan people, and we’re honored to be able to provide support during this critical time.”

The operation marked a significant moment in the continued partnership between the United States and Venezuela, with both sides emphasizing the importance of cooperation and mutual support. “We are committed to working together to address the aftermath of this disaster and help restore stability to affected communities,” stated Ambassador Carlos F. Ascanio, Venezuelan representative.

As part of the aid delivery, U.S. forces brought essential supplies, including medical equipment and shelter materials, to remote areas inaccessible by local authorities. U.S. Marines and Soldiers, in tandem with Venezuelan medical personnel, provided critical medical assistance, with some personnel even conducting medical evacuations for those in greatest need.

Operation Deliver Aid exemplifies the U.S. military’s commitment to humanitarian assistance and disaster response, demonstrating its capability to respond rapidly and effectively in times of crisis. The operation highlights the importance of international cooperation, underscoring the significance of collaborative efforts in addressing complex global challenges.
