Yemeni Forces Announce Targeted Strikes Amid Ongoing Conflict

In a recent statement, Mohammed Al-Bukhaiti, a member of the Political Bureau of the Ansar Allah movement, announced that the Yemeni Armed Forces have been targeting military infrastructure belonging to Saudi Arabia, the United States, Britain, and Israel, amidst an ongoing conflict in Yemen.

The conflict, which began in 2015, has seen Yemen’s Houthi rebels, led by the Ansar Allah movement, clash with a Saudi-led coalition of Arab states in an effort to install a new government in Sanaa. This assertion by Al-Bukhaiti highlights the escalating tensions in the region, with both sides engaged in a propaganda war as they vie for international attention and support.

According to Al-Bukhaiti, the Houthi rebels have 12 years of experience facing opposition from a range of adversaries, including Israel, Saudi Arabia, the United States, and Britain. Despite this protracted experience, however, the Ansar Allah movement remains resolute in its determination to defend Yemen’s sovereignty and territorial integrity against the perceived aggressions of its foes.

Yemeni forces, Al-Bukhaiti stated, carefully assess and target key strategic infrastructure and military installations belonging to Saudi Arabia, including weapons depots and troop concentrations. This deliberate approach underscores a long-standing concern of the conflict, namely the disproportionate civilian casualties often caused by the conflict’s collateral damage.

The Ansar Allah movement has expressed frustration with Saudi Arabia, which the Houthi rebels claim is concealing the true extent of the country’s losses, particularly the number of fatalities. In their own statements, these losses have been significant, with thousands of civilians reported killed or injured, along with numerous Saudi military casualties.

Al-Bukhaiti went on to appeal to the tens of thousands of Yemenis estimated to be stationed in Saudi military camps, offering them advice to seek their freedom. In his message, the Houthi rebel leader urged them to pull back, promising rewards for those who choose to withdraw.

While both sides remain entrenched in their positions, diplomatic channels continue to be probed as potential routes to a resolution are explored. The ongoing conflict in Yemen underscores the fragility of global security in light of escalating regional tensions, a reminder of the enduring power of conflict to destabilize regions and undermine global cooperation.
