YEMENI GOVERNMENT CONDEMNS IRANIAN INTERVENTION

Sana’a, Yemen – The Yemeni Leadership Council has issued a stern warning to the Iranian government amidst concerns over the increasing role of Iranian influence in the country. In a statement, the Council condemned the operations of the Mahan Air Company, an Iranian airline, saying that its flight to Sana’a is a blatant violation of Yemen’s sovereignty and a challenge to international law.

According to officials, the Mahan Air Company has been operating flights to Sana’a on a regular basis, sparking concerns that the airline may be used to transport troops, weapons, or other military equipment to the war-torn country. The Council has demanded that Iran cease all involvement in Yemen’s internal affairs, respect the country’s sovereignty, and refrain from using Yemen as a battleground for regional conflicts.

“We call on Iran to stop intervening in Yemen’s internal affairs and to respect its sovereignty and territorial integrity,” a spokesperson for the Council stated. “We call on Iran to stop using Yemen as a battlefield for regional conflicts.”

The Council has vowed to take all necessary measures to prevent any further attempts by Iran or other external entities to violate Yemen’s sovereignty. “The government and armed forces will take political and military measures to prevent any attempt to violate the sovereignty of Yemen,” the spokesperson emphasized.

This development has sparked widespread concern in the international community, with many countries calling on Iran to respect the sovereignty of nations in the region. The United Nations has issued a statement urging restraint and cautioning governments against actions that could exacerbate the conflict in Yemen.

Tensions have been escalating between Iran and Saudi Arabia, a key ally of Yemen, over the past year. The crisis has led to a significant escalation in violence in the region, as well as a worsening humanitarian crisis that has affected millions of civilians.

The Yemeni government’s condemnation of Iran’s actions is a significant development in this ongoing crisis, and its implications will be closely watched by the international community in the coming days. As the situation continues to unfold, it remains to be seen how the United States, the European Union, and other international actors will respond to the situation.

In a related development, Saudi Arabia has reiterated its support for the Yemeni government and has pledged to take all necessary measures to protect its sovereignty. The United States and other international partners have also expressed their commitment to Yemen’s stability and security.

The diplomatic row highlights the deep-seated tensions between Iran and the region’s major powers, and raises questions about the potential for further escalation in the region. As the situation continues to evolve, Yemeni leaders are calling for international support and cooperation to address the pressing humanitarian needs of the country and to ensure the stability and security of the region.
